Yesterday was fairly uneventful. He was off the ventilator the whole time we were there. He nodded that he wanted the radio on and also responded when asked if he was comfortable. I get the impression that when he is off the vent, it is sort of a struggle for him, so he only responds to questions that he feels the energy to answer.

His eye is still all icky looking. I washed it out several times with saline. The staff there seems to be non-existant on the weekends. But, I guess since he is doing well on his own, they don't feel the need to rush in there every 10 minutes. I just wish he would get the use of his arms and legs back. He looks so frail.
